Get It Together

So why is it that my house looks like a yard sale exploded in every room in my house. I mean really, should I have played for two hours on facebook bejeweled or whould my time have been better spent folding the pile of laundry in my bedroom (talk about a serious mood killer), starting another load of laundry, cleaning a bathroom, vaccuming, and the list could go on and on and on. My house is in need of a serious cleaning, I mean its not dirty as in filthy its just stuff EVERYWHERE and it is starting to drive me a little insane, I have got to get it together. The only rooms in the house that are clutter free are the bathrooms and kitchen (I despise dirty kitchens and bathrooms).

The Nester is hosting 31 days to a better dressed Nest, and I havent even started because I cant focus on decorting a messy house. So this week I am going to get the following projects completed or at least one step closer.

Living Room - finish painting so the floor is free of dropcloths, curtain rods, paint cans, etc..; make little man put away all toys after he is finished before he goes to bed

Master Bedroom - fold and put away all clothes and anything that is not in place, take the pile of dry clean only clothes to the dry cleaners

Front Room - this room is suppose to be the dining room, but it is currently a room full of stuff. It has a couch that I need to sell on craigslist, two ottomans that need to be recovered and moved to a different location, a stack of frames waiting for a coat of spray paint for my gallery wall, and christmas paper and presents that I have purchased in a bag beside the couch. Did I mention that this is the first room you see when you come in the house, um yeah not a welcoming entry. Lets just say this room needs the most work and will be the first one I tackle.

Extra Bedroom - lets just say that this room is worse than the front room with 6 dining chairs waiting to be refinished, a pile of my brothers belongings from when he lived with us over a year ago, laundry on a drying rack, .......

All this chaos, its no wonder I cant make it out of the house on time. So does anyone have any tips on how you balance work, home, and your desire to do decorating projects?
